Tamil Nadu celebrates Eid-ul-fitr

CHENNAI: Eid-ul-fitr was celebrated by members of the Muslim community across the state with fervour. The Muslims, cutting across age, gathered in large numbers in mosques to offer prayers, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramazan.

Leaders, including Governor S S Barnala, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and opposition leader Jayalalithaa, among others had expressed their Eid greetings. The Muslims organised charity for the poor in different places in Chennai and elsewhere in the state.
