Anbumani dares DMK to ignore community

KANCHEEPURAM: Former Union Minister and PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Wednesday to deliver a veiled warning to the ruling DMK that the powers-that- be should not force his outfit to the precipice of “repeating 1987 when we had brought the entire State to a grinding halt for a week.” Addressing a demonstration organised by the party in front of municipal office, here, he echoed his party’s demand for 20 per cent exclusive reservation for Vanniyars in educational institutions and in employment opportunities. “If our reservation demand is not met by the government, the next phase of agitation will be launched and no force could contain the Vanniyar vigour,” he thundered.

Anbumani while reeling out a statistics of Vanniyars occupying top government posts, said, “There is only one Vanniyar among the 53 High Court judges”.
