MUMBAI: AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi was on Tuesday confronted with a barrage of questions on farmers suicide in Maharashtra during his interaction with the college, students at Pune and Akola districts.Rahul, who reached nearly 30 minutes behind schedule, drove straight from Shivani Airport to the campus of Panjabrao Krushi Vidyapeeth at Akola.Rahul, at his interaction with as many as 400 students of agriculture, faced a volley of questions regarding the need for a separate Union Budget for Agriculture.Rahul claimed that the number of farmers’ suicides had declined. Neither party workers nor ministers were allowed entry into the hall. Even chapals of the students were not allowed inside the auditorium. In his interaction with students in Pune, Rahul resorted to his oft-repeated theme of two Indias - one for the rich and the other for the poor.“There are three ways of entering politics. The first method applied to me. It depends on your last name,” he said about his entry into politics. Students wearing chappals were denied entry for an interaction with Rahul as a preacaution against any kind of hurling of shoe incidents. The Congress general secretary is on a day-long visit to Maharashtra as part of his country-wide tour for connecting with students and youth.
