MUMBAI: Interim IPL chairman assured that the next edition of the IPL would be bigger and transparent in New Delhi on Tuesday. “The job is tough, but I assure you the show will go on. The next season IPL IV will be on schedule and it would be bigger, better and most importantly transparent,” IPL’s interim Chief Chirayu Amin said on Tuesday.

Sixty two year old Amin who replaced overtly flamboyant Lalit Modi was candid enough to admit that the Modi episode had put the IPL management under intense public scrutiny and he was determined to clear out of it. “The league management is under the scanner but cricket is not. The brand image of IPL is very strong and this storm will pass,” he said.

Amin who is the president of Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) and is also the heads Baroda-based pharmaceutical company Rs 1,200 core Alembic Ltd, said that the flamboyance associated with the league will be toned down. He said that the post match parties introduced by Modi will be stopped. When asked about the cheer leader, Amin said, “I don’t know about them, but yes the parties which were started by Modi will stop from next season.”

Talking about Modi, Amin said that the Governing Council trusted Modi too much and should have kept a hawkish eye on him, “Everybody were basking in the glory of the dazzle of IPL’s success. But we trusted Modi in good faith,” he said.

He reiterated that several important papers were missing and the board was conducting its investigations into that matter.
