Two more Kinfra parks in August

THIRUVANATHAPURM: The State Industries Department is on a spree to launch new ventures and projects. The Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) itself is opening two major parks next month - a rural textile park at Thiruvambadi in Kozhikode district and an industrial park at Piravanthur in Kollam district.The textile park, the foundation-stone of which will be laid on August 3 by Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem, will receive Rs 25 crore from the State Government. Coming up on a three-acre plot, the textile park is expected to give direct and indirect employment to 1,000 people.Once the park becomes operational, it is expected that the Government will get a handsome amount annually as income. This rural textile park and many others in the pipeline, are expected to give a boost to the textile industry and also encourage investment in the textile sector. Several such rural textile parks are to be launched in various parts of the State, including Ponnani in Malappuram, Rajkumari in Idukki, Payyannur in Kannur and Ranni in Pathanamthitta. Industrial park in PiravanthurThe foundation-stone for the Kinfra industrial park at Piravanthur will be laid by Kareem on August 5. The park will come up on 65 acres of land taken over by Kinfra from Travancore Plywood Industries. The stone-laying function will be presided over by K B Ganeshkumar MLA. The foundation-stone for a Standard Design Factory to be set up inside the factory will be laid by Minister C Divakaran. The work for a water treatment plant will be inaugurated by Minister N K Premachandran while that for infrastructure development will be inaugurated by Labour Minister P K Gurudasan.
