18 new swine flu cases

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On Monday 18 new cases of H1N1 were reported in the state, three new cases of dengue fever were detected in Thiruvananthapuram. Seven cases of Chikungunya were detected of which six are from Thiruvananthapuram and one from Kollam.

Eight case were reported from Thrissur, three each from Ernakulam and Kozhikode, two from Malappuram and one each from Kottayam and Kannur.

Two cases were found to be critical and the patients were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. As many as 109 people were home quarantined and 21 were quarantined at hospitals. The throat swab of 37 people were also collected on Monday for testing.

The number of fever cases in the state raised to 11,048.

Out of the four leptospirosis cases detected in the State on Monday, two are from Thiruvananthapuram, and one each from Alappuzha and Thrissur. Two cases of Malaria were also detected from Idukki and Kasargod on Monday.
