Civic agencies vow to work in sync

BANGALORE: At the coordination committee meeting held on Saturday, under the chairmanship of Dr A Ravindra, advisor to the chief minister on urban affairs, the heads of different civic agencies took the following decisions:

BWSSB to plug all leakages on MG Road by July 31 to enable BMRCL to lay the road.

BESCOM, KPTCL and BWSSB directed to take mandatory permission from BBMP to lay cables. BBMP has to obtain programme of works from BESCOM, KPTCL and other agencies before the roads are asphalted.

KPTCL to obtain fresh permissions to dig roads, henceforth.

BWSSB to incorporate restoration work in its estimate compulsorily to avoid the haphazard digging of roads and not restoring them. It will coordinate with the police department while laying the pipes.

To conduct zonal coordination committee meeting once in 15 days.

KPTCL and BWSSB asked to restore Mysore Road immediately to ease traffic congestion.

To set up a separate task force to check manufacture of plastics less than 20 microns to make Bangalore plastic-free
