BMTC bus rams three vehicles, 1 killed

BANGALORE: A 28-year-old man died on the spot in a chain accident that took place at Upparpet traffic police limits on Wednesday afternoon when a BMTC bus rammed into an auto, a car and a motor cycle at Himalaya traffic junction.

The deceased has been identified as Eera Nagappa, a native of Andhra Pradesh.

The police have arrested bus driver.

In another incident, a 45-year-old man died on the spot when a truck knocked him down in Peenya traffic limits on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as P Raju, a resident of Agrahara Dasarahalli.

The accident occurred when Raju was crossing the road on SM road near Aiyappa temple. The driver of the lorry fled the scene, leaving behind the vehicle. The body has been shifted to MS Ramaiah hospital for autopsy.

Man burns wife

A 25-year-old woman, whose husband had set her on fire, succumbed to burn injuries on Tuesday night.

The victim, Nadia, had sneaked Rs 100 from her husband’s pocket to buy grocery.

Her husband, Naushad, a daily-wage worker, got enraged when he discovered it. He poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze.

The neighbours rushed to their house upon hearing Nadia scream and rushed her to Victoria Hospital. She died on Tuesday night.
