BIAL shows CM the future

BANGALORE: Officials of the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) on Thursday met Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and informed him about the expansion work it is undertaking at the Bengaluru International Airport.

The BIAL team led by G V Krishna Reddy of the GVK Power and Infrastructure Limited — it recently acquired 29 per cent stake in BIAL — made a power point presentation before Yeddyurappa and apprised him of the Master Plan for expansion of the airport.

Next, the BIAL will make a presentation before Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel to start work in August.

The BIAL has assured Yeddyurappa that the recommendations made in the Joint House Committee report will be addressed.

The Joint House Committee report prepared by MLC Hemachandra Sagar and legislators from all parties pulled up the BIAL for serious lapses in the facilities at the airport.

Yeddyurappa said he was impressed by the new design and the expansion plans.

He said no decision has yet been taken on opening the HAL airport for domestic flights.
